taking a day off

In my head, I know that taking a day off is integral to any fitness routine. However, in practice, I have a really hard time feeling OK about a day without exercise. Exercising is hugely tied to my physical and emotional well being, and I think I fear that if I take one day off, that will lead to two and on and on and on. I know that this isn't true because I've been an avid 5-7 day a week exerciser for 8+ years, but I just feel like one day away from working out will wreck all that I've worked for.

I work from home on Fridays during the winter, which allows me to workout during the day when I would normally be at the office. However, today, I hadn't reached my productivity goal in time to leave for yoga, so I ended up staying in, continuing to work and eating tortilla chips. Definitely not ideal.

But, as with everything, you have to get back in the saddle and change your thinking. I'm taking today off so that I can take care of my body and prevent injury!

On a more positive note, I had a delicious lunch!

Leftover homemade chicken noodle soup, strawberries, blackberries and sundried tomatoes!
