the final days.

I absolutely cannot believe that I have only a few days before my first half marathon. I am feeling calm and ready - I know my fitness is at a level where I can complete the distance without walking (except through water stations if need be!). I know that I have my hydration and refueling nailed down and I even have Emily back as a running buddy! (Emily ended up at a PT who is having her focus on her IT Band. She's cleared to run and since she doesn't feel that her body is cut out for long distance running due to injuries and stomach problems, this will most likely be her one and only half...I'm glad she'll be running along side me!)

In addition to feeling calm I am feeling unbelievably sore. I hit it pretty hard over the weekend (BodyStep and BodyPump new releases on Saturday, 10 mile run and Dragonboat practice on Sunday) and then chased it with the hardest barre class of my life yesterday afternoon and my favorite 5:45 AM BodyStep class this morning. My quads and butt are on fire and my hips have tightened right up. NOT ideal for the beginning of my final week before my 1/2. Oh well, I've got a pretty light training schedule for the rest of the week and will do lots of stretching so that I can be rested and ready to go on Sunday morning!

Here's the plan for the rest of the week:
Wednesday PM: Easy 5 miles, kickball
Thursday AM: yoga
Friday PM: Easy 3 miles to get out the jitters
Saturday: OFF with lots of stretching
Sunday: HALF MARATHON!!

I GOT THIS!

Just a fun picture of my friend Kendra and I at Dragonboat practice!
