Halloween Hustle 5k

October race is in the books! I was having trouble finding a good race for September, partially because I had to work on a Sunday which had some of the bigger races in our area, partially because there weren't a ton of races close to home. But, I ended up settling on the Halloween Hustle 5k, which was held in my hometown - within walking distance of my parent's house!

Emily and I dressed up as Red Sox players - it was a simple costume to pull off in the cold and timely because they were going for the World Series. I think we brought them some luck, because they won!

It was definitely chilly, but nothing I couldn't handle. The only way I can describe this race was amazing - I felt great the entire time, even on the hills. I kept up with Emily the entire time, finishing only seconds behind her. We had a great cheering section at the end (my parents, Emily's boyfriend Zac and my aunt), we got compliments on our costumes, the whole thing was just awesome!

Finished with a 29:33 which I was SUPER pleased with. So pleasantly surprised with this race!

In other news...I signed up for a second half marathon! You'll have to wait for more details...it's going to be so much fun!
